Open savanna grassland with abundant Acoelorraphe wrightii, frequent Byrsonima crassifolia, Curatella americana and rare Crescentia cujete, punctuated by Eleocharis marshes and forest thickets. Site 3 16° 30’ 31.37319" N 88° 28° 27.92554" W (WGS84) Medium dense pine savanna, trees ~5% canopy cover, up to 30 cm DBH & 10-12 m. 50 N/S slope from open savanna to woodland, standing water from recent heavy rains. Occasional Quercus oleiodes to 8 m, abundant Byrsonima crassifolia up to 2 m forms shrub layer, 20% shrub cover. 80% ground cover by grass tussocks, 15-50cm in height with abundant Cassytha filiformis. Strong evidence of burning. Alt.: 30m Fls. lilac, darker towards their base; lower stem.
