Habitat: Low-juncus savanna with very occasional trees and thick juncus obliterating most other herbs. Soil loamy.
Description: Herb, quite common throughout the savanna. Stem square, red. Lower leaves brittle and dry to 0.75 up the stem. Leaves with parallel veins. Calyx 5-lobed, star-like from below. Corolla fragile, pink, 5 petals. 10 stamens with yellow anthers and purple hooks. Style curved downwards.
