Habitat: Dense mixed woodland with large areas of impermeable Sinoarundinaria. Steeply sloped, very damp. Lower parts eventually giveway to Rhododendron sinofalconeri forest.: Mixed woodland, large swathes of bamboo, valleys of Rhododendron species eventually dominated by mature Rhododendron forest.
Description: Tree. Leaves whorls, elliptical, apex acute, margins undulate, apex acute. Fruit capsular, cylindrical with residual style. Height greater than 8 m.
