Habitat: Primary evergreen lowland forest
Description: Perennial rhizomatous herb to 0.8m tall, leafy shoots to 1.5m in length, arching, composed of 18- 30 leaves, lamina dark glossy green above; inflorescence composed of peduncle and a fusi form spike, fertile bracts orange-red, somewhat inflated, bracteoles triangular, 2-7 mm long, flowers pale yellow.
