Habitat: Disturbed edge of forest, thin red-brown soil over soft limestone bedrock.; Vegetation: Tropical, deciduous, lowland, seasonal forest, canopy ~18 m dominated by Caesalpinia gaumeri, Metopium brownei, Bursera simaruba & Cecropia sp.
Description: Small subcanopy tree 5 m, brought down by recent hurricane (Dean, 1 month previously); green-yellow flowers which attract ants & unripe fruit with >30 monocarps on pale pink pedicels.
