Habitat: Lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, on sandy soil.
Description: Terrestrial herb. Leaves distichous, to 1 m, with up to 7-11 leaves; lamina to 40 x 10 cm, dull green above, pale beneath, leaf bases creamish, pungent smell. Flower cream, tinged slightly yellowish-green. Labellum dark purple-brown, almost black.
