Habitat: In exposed positions on rocks near summit.
Description: Bushy cane Begonia forming clumps, stem to 1.5m tall; base c.1cm thick and brown, upper part shiny and carmen as though lacquered, branching along length of stem, branches semi-erect, petioles crimson but not glossy, leaf margin reddish, back of some leaves suffused crimson, upper side mid-dark green sometimes grey-mottled and then all reen brittle, female flowers solitary, ovary pale green with edge of wings suffused red, tepals 5 whitish suffused reddish, inner much smaller, stigma pale yellow green, up to 3 produced before sparsely branched male infloresences are produced from upper axils, peduncle carmen, tepals 2+2, outer pair scintillating white with carmen through, smaller ones white, anthers same pale yellow-green as stigma, fruit dangling on thin thread-like pedicel.
