Collecting locality: Brazil:Mato Grosso:8km S of the Base Camp of the Expedition, (Base Camp c. 270km N of Xavantina).
Latitude: 12°54'S, Longitude: 51°52'W
Habitat: In cerrado formation at its margin with grassy campo.
Description: Tree, 4m tall. Trunk 11cm in diameter at breast height. Bark silvery, scaling in big flakes, charred to c. 3.5m up. Blaze: wood cream; cortex pink, broad; cork chocolate in section. Corollas bright yellow.
