Habitat: Growing in coastal lowland forests, on gravelly infertile soil in open spaces, shrubby vegetation as well as Acacia plantations.
Description: Small rhizomatus herb to 0.8m tall. Leafy shoots with ca. 1-2 leaves at the time of flowering, with up to 10 leaves on mature plants past flowering; leaf sheaths green, glabrous; lamina slightly unequal, sparesely puberulous. Inflorescence lateral. Flowers glabrous, semi-translucent white or with pink tinge. Anther L-shaped, spurred. Fruit a globular trilocular capsule, white.
