Habitat: Damp semi-shade near stream
Description: Medium terrestrial herb in dense clump. Stilt roots to 22cm. Leaft shoots to 2m, 10-30cm between shoots. Base of shoot swollen to 4.5cm diameter, stem above base 3.5cm, reticulate. First leaf 126cm from base. Ligule broad, slightly bilobed at tip, 1.4cm long. Petiole to 3.2cm. Leaf base borad, rounded. Leaves large with wavy edges, to 66.5cm x 18cm for middle and basal leaves, 55 x 11.5cm for upper leaves. Leaf apex shortly acuminate. Infloresence from base, in bud. Peduncle to 5cm. Bracts orange-cream and more or less bilobed, buds bright orange-yellow. Fruits shallowly ridged, pale yellow when young and slightly greenish when older, bracts persistent.
