Description: Leafy shoot to 90 cm, rhizome, thin, short-creeping. Base to 10 mm across, reddish, sheath yellow-green, pseudostem diameter to 4 mm. Ligule dark purple. Lamina plain green, tinged purple near margin below. Small inflorescence derived from rhizome. Bracts tinged red, bracteole cream with brownish margin, apex of calyx tinged red, corolla white, lobes pale yellow-green, labellum white with pale pink margin, stamen and stigma white, thecae with forward-pointed stiff hairs only opening at apex, the pollen being pushed out in front of te apex of stamen; stigma at the same time recurved; ostiole pointed up and backwards (flexistyly).
