Habitat: Disturbed forest near road.
Description: Terrestrial herb. Leafy shoot to 3.8 m long. Base to 3.5 cm diam. Sheath yellow-green. Ligule 3 mm long, brownish. Lamina sessile, to 62 x 8 cm. Inflorescence to 20 cm long, peduncle 11.5 cm long. Spike 7.5 x 3 cm. Flowers extending 1 cm above bracts. Peduncular bracts cream to brownish. Bracts pale yellowish green with brownish margin. Bracteole pale brown. Calyx pale green. Corolla tube and lobes cream. Labellum yellow at apex. Stamen and stigma white. The taste of the centre of leaf base: peppey, - sweet.
