Description: Xerophytic herb to 60 cm. Leaf sheaths green with reddish tinge to red, margins hyaline. Petioles reddish. Lamina mid to dark green above, pale green below. Scape of inflorescence reddish at apex. Fertile bracts reddish brown with bluish veins and a blue spot on each side of the free, apical portion; coma bracts with a broad, longitudinal, reddish brown stripe along the midrib of the abaxial surface. Calyx and corolla white. Lateral staminodes violet with red ventral margin. Lip pale violet at distal margins, darkening towards ridges in throuat, with bright yellow between these ridges and red margin adjacent to lateral staminodes. Filament with red spots on inner surface.
