Description: Plants in fruit and sparingly with in flower. Leaves dull green above, pale green beneathwith a green or slightly purplish-green midrib. Outer phyllaries recurved both in flower-bud and in the fully expanded flower; inner phyllaries adpressed, simple at apex (not gibbous or appendaged). Corolla yellow, striped dark crimson-brown beneath. Style and its two recurved branches yellow. Achenes pale brown. Fruit-receptacle flattish-convex
