Collecting locality: Belize:Cayo:Chiquibul Forest Reserve. Las Cuevas Research Station. At edge of camp clearing.

Habitat: Open, mown area, at edge of camp clearing in tropical, evergreen, seasonal, broadleaf forest on limestone. In pockets of very free-draining, almost pure humus between the limestone rocks of a raised, ancient Mayan causeway, approx. 60cm above surrounding ground level.
Description: Apparently annual, 20-60 cm high, upright or spreading, white latex present in stem and leaves, reddish tinge to stems and older leaves, some mowing damage. Larger specimens cut to fit sheet. Population of approx. 200 plants over a 30 x 10 m area. Growing with: Hammelia patens, Calea spp., Commelina sp., Sida sp., Convolvulous sp., Melochia sp., Paulinia or Sargentia sp., spp. of Poaceae, sp. of Vitaceae.
