Habitat: Old logging road (25 years), montane forest.
Description: Terrestrial herb. Rhizome 7-8 mm diam, pale brown; raised 5-20 cm above ground by stilt roots, 3-4 mm diam, greyish brown. Leafy shoots 8-17 cm apart, to 1.3 m long. Base to 11 mm diam. Sheath greyish-green, tessilate. Ligule to 6 mm long, brown. Lamina to 19.5 x 3.2 cm, mid-green above, not plicate. Inflorescence from rhizome. Peduncle 1.8-4 cm long, scales pale brown. Spike to 3.5-3.5 cm. Sterile bracts long mucronate, red, pale at base. Bracteole membranous, cream, apex pale pink. Calyx pale pink. Corolla pale pink. Labellum and stamen red. Ovary yellow. Stigma dark purple.
