Habitat: Dense pine woodland savanna, turning into broken ridge. Abundant pine 17 m, 5-10%; dense shrub layer, 100%, of frequent Xylopia frutescens 10 m, Cupania rufescens 8 m, Byrsonima crassifolia 4 m, Calliandra houstoniana 4 m, occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 3 m. Not burnt for many years.
Description: Abundant subshrub 1.8 m; densely softly pubescent on young twigs & underside of keel-shaped leaves.
