Habitat: Valley floor near river (within 100 m); thick leaf litter & dark soil; granite bedrock.; Vegetation: Tropical evergreen, broadleaf, moist, lowland forest, canopy ~20 m dominated by Zanthoxylum sp, Spondias radlkoferi & Virola koschnyi, understory of numerous ferns & Araceae epiphytes.
Description: 4 m sapling, copious pink sap from leaves & stem, distinctive myristicaceous branching.
