Collecting locality: Belize:Toledo:Deep River Forest Reserve North; ~8 km west of Southern Highway along BFREE access road, ~200 m south of access road.

Habitat: Open woody savanna grassland. Rare sparsely scattered Pinus caribaea to 18 m (<5%) canopy; sparse shrub layer of occasional Acoelorraphe wrightii 3-5 m, Byrsonima crassifolia 3 (-8) m & rare Curatella americana 3 m. Herb layer dominated by grasses. Evidence of past burning (>1 month previous).
Description: Rare woody herb to 20 cm; large woody underground stem; numerous small yellow flowers.
