Description: Clump-forming herb c.2m tall, 2-5 stems/clump, 3-6 leaves/stem, rhizome red, sheath of rhizome brown, young shoot red, ligule c.2cm long, papery, dark brown, petiole c.70cm long, green, leaf sheath green, inflorescence near the base c. 10 long and 2-3 infl./shoot. Inflorescence sheath reddish-brown, flower opening<2 flowers/shoot, flower white, labellum white with yellow band in middle, from base to lip, trilobed, winged fruit.
