Habitat: Lowland freshwater swamp forest
Description: Solitary scattered trees with straight erecttrunks branched above and with long, nearly erect proproots at base. Height 45', bole 6' above props, d.b.h. 6.5 ins. Bark brownish with +/- small nubbly prickles; wood dull white, fibrous. Mature leaves about 200 x 7.5 cm, glaucous beneath, medium or light green above. A-V pleats sometimes armed. Inflorescence solitary, terminal, pendulous. Fruit ovoid, rather acute, rounded-trigonal in cross section, with dry bracts. Carpels yellow with brown tip, lower pericarp fleshy.
