Description: Creeping herb c.1 m tall, 2-3 stems/clump, 7-9 leaves/ shoot, rhizome white then red, swollen at base, rhizome sheath white then reddish-brown, upper and lower surface of leaves green, ligule green. Inflorescence sheath papery, red to dark brown, overlapping in two rows, symmetric, flower white with yellow band on middle of lip and red lines at base and in the middle.
