Miscellaneous notes: = F.988 which are cultivated spp. In a wild state the plant is even finer [than when cultivated] & abounds in millions over the open alp-slopes on either side of the Pass & below it, descending even into light glades of bamboo, and little dells in he woodland. Shape, colour and spotting variable; flowers from 1-10 a plant, & a spectacle of unsurpassing beauty and charm. Fullest bloom will be about June 25th.
