Description: Spreading herb, c.1m tall, c. 12 leaves/stem, getting smaller towrds apex, rhizome red or white, c.0.5 cm diameter, rhizome sheath dark brown, leaf sheath a bit swollen at base, reddish-green, leaves green and glabrous both sides, ligule green, infructescence arising from rhizome, c. 3 cm long, fruit single, ridged, globose and whitish-green.
