Habitat: Area farmed <16 yrs previously. Thin leaf litter, limestone bedrock.; Vegetation: Tropical, evergreen broadleaf forest: Yucatan variant. Dominated by Cecropia sp & Critonia sp (Z.Goodwin 457). Canopy of ~12 m.
Description: Very common tree 10.5m, 12.2cm dbh, green fruit, when ripe fall to forest floor splitting to reveal bright red seeds.
