Description: From an evergreen suckering shrub to 4m with oblanceolate leaves to 25cm x 6cm, mid glossy green above and light green below, fruit a brown cylindrical capsule to 1.2cm x 0.75cm, localised in light shade in moist humus rich loam on a flat south west facing mountainside of open mixed woodland with Tsuga canadensis, Acer saccharum, Abies balsamea, Pinus strobus and Acer rubrum,
