Habitat: Premontane/cloud forest.
Description: Shrub, 1.5-2.0m tall. Stem unbranched, basally glabrescent, apically pubescent. Abaxial leaf surface uniformly green to green with reddish tinge. Inflorescence axillary; usually below leaf portion of stem. Peduncle thick, 1-3cm long. Pedicels, calyx lobes and bracts dark purple. Corolla light red and tubular. Bracts occasionally covering pedicels and calyx lobes. Fruit a bivalved fleshy capsule.
