Collecting locality: Panama:Provincia de Chiriquí:Heavily forested slops along a ridge of teh western side of Cerro Horqueta.
Description: Shrub to 2m. rooted in deep forest humus. Base of stems with reddish-brown bark, stems about 1-2 cm at base. Branches green. Leaves thickly papery, green above, light green beneath, glossy both surfaces. Petioles pale green. Bracts pale green with a touch of pink at base and maybe along margins. Rachis pale green. Pedicels cream. Calyx totally pale green. Corolla white at extreme base and lobes, rose red remainder; margin of lobes also red.
