Habitat: Forming enormous burgandy-red mats between the rocks and gravel along the shore and on the sandy beaches of the first laguna at c. 600 ft. altitude above the cascades and waterfalls that gradually ascend from the end of the first very narrow inlet; from sea level to the first of a series of apparently interconnected lagunas bounded on both sides by sheer unscalable 1000 ft. plus cliffs; on the western side of Bahía Capitán Cánepa; exposure easterly.
