Collecting locality: Brazil:Bahia:Serra das Almas, middle & upper slopes of the Pico das Almas, ca. 25km WNW of the Villa do Rio da Contas.
Habitat: Sandstone conglomerate metamorphic & quartzite rock outcrops with associated scrubby vegetation with damp flushes, grassland & marsh in some areas.
Description: This plant is growing on lower slopes of Pico das Almas in open stony grasslands. Bushy shrub to 60cm. with bare stems below. Leaves pale green, rigid. Petals & stamens yellow.
