Habitat: On mossy and shrub clad gneiss cliffs which face north. Growing with Cassiope etc.
Description: Prostrate creeping plant forming flat mats. The capsule resembles that of Diapensia himalaica, but is borne erect on a red pedicle 2 - 3 inches hich. Capsule turns from red to black as it ripens.
