Habitat: Waste ground by Rio Paraguacu, with damp grassland and scattered woodland. This plant growing by edge of cerrado and junction with damp grassland at margin of shallow lake by river.
Description: Herb with sickly odour to ca. 25cm with decumbent to ascending stems spreading from stout woody branched tap root. Laves pale green, stems pink-tinged. Some leaves three-lobed at base. Flowering stems ascending to weackly erect. Peduncle pink-tinged. Calyces pink-tinged in flower. Corolla pale lilac with darker labellum. Anthers white. Style pinkish-lilac. Flowers protandrous. Upper flowers often older than lower (with style long protrunding when flower still not triggered). Ripe calyx pale brown or pink-tinged, calyx teeth dark tipped. Old calyx pale fawn.
