Collecting locality: Mexico:Jalisco:Nevada de Colima, on main road to summit from Cuidad Guzman, on north east side of mountain.
Habitat: At end of Abies range and lower end of Pinus hartwegii forest in mixed conifer forest
Description: Tree 15 m tall; bark smooth, becoming scaly; foliage similar to _Abies religiosa_ but glaucous with stomata on both surfaces, on shoots from upper crown not twisted at base.
Miscellaneous notes: Growing at top end of range with _Pinus- KR 648. Sterile specimen from lower crown.
