Collecting locality: Nepal:Ganesh Himal, Ankhu Khola.
Latitude: 28°12'N, Longitude: 85°5'E
Habitat: Stoney alpine slopes. Growing on very stony ground, and on rock ledges.
Description: Height of plant 2-3½ ft. Petals dark red with mauvish tinge. Stem, leaf petioles and leaves strongly coloured with mauvish pink. Whole plant covered with orange hairs.
Miscellaneous notes: Seen only in one locality on S.W. side of Ganesh Himal. Plants scattered intermittently over a distance of 5 miles. Only other species of _Meconopsis_ in vicinity was _M. regia_. _M. napaulensis_ in its blue or mauve form was not seen any-where om Ganesh Himal.
