Description: tubers irregularly subglobose, brown outside, pale light-yellowish inside, to 12 x 7 cm; stems green with dark purple; inflorescence axes dark purple, involucral bracts green, tips often purple; pappus white; disc corollas, stigmas, styles orange., corolla lobes often [w....] with brownish tips; blades dark green above, pale light green below.
