Habitat: Transition from heath forest to lowland rain forest on slope
Description: Tree 22 m x 45 cm, buttressed to 1.2 m. Bark brown, +/- smooth, thin and detaching, dark red-brown on the back; under-bark cream and light green and pale orange mottled; inner-bark light orange-straw with fibres and granules intermixed. Branches +/- horizontal. Young leaves bright yellowish-green; mature leaves bright midgreen, a little paler beneath; old leaves die bright red. Flowers very short-lived. Recemes behind leaves; axis light-green; pedicels whitish. Sepals palest cream. Petals slightly greenish-white. Disk creamy. Anthers fawn. Ovary green.
