Habitat: At margin of submontane forest.
Description: Clump forming herb with a pseudostem to 4m which is predominantly brown with dead clinging sheaths otherwise brown with some dark coloration, no wax! Inflorescence hanging vertically downwards. Yellow, shiny outside, dull inside. Fruit bunch dense, subspherical. Fruit 2-rowed, green when immature.
