Description: Unbranched on stout stems to 1.2 m; large white bracts enclosing clustered inflorescence; calyx lobes reddish brown tinged, the filiform lobes into a column above the corolla in bud; corolla hairy on outside (buds only seen); all vegetative parts dull yellowish olive green
