Description: Flowers pale cream 1½ to 2 cm diameter. Berries green with scattered white spots. Plants varying from about 8 to 55 cm tall. Spreading or decumbent, rooting at nodes. There seemed to be a certain amount of variation in the thickness of the stem and the pigment it contains, also in the width of the wings and the depth of colour of the leaves. Leaves fairly distinct - types stand out, one with thick, dark purple stems and crisped wings 1-2 cm broad, the other with much thinner, almost unpigmented stems with narrow uncrisped wings. Tubers as yet immature, small, rounded to oval, yellow-brown, sometinged with purple.
