Habitat: Vegetation: Primary forest
Description: Woody shrub c.2m, branching from base; flowering at ground level; stems brittle, 4-angled, yellowish-grey; leaves in apical 1/4 of stems only, glossy green above, much paler below, petiole very thick at base; calyx green; corolla white with maroon spots on lower 3 lobes; anthers yellow; immature fruit green. Terminal bud not protected. Growing in heavy shade near stream. Very attractive to small black flies.
