Habitat: Very local, but abundant in mossy fine slopes in the open of the glades.
Description: Flowers of a lively lavender pink, irresistably suggesting a primula's, and exceedingly pretty, without having any of the family weakness for shutting up when picked, or when under a cloud. [It ascends in occasional specimens to the high-alpine region. Sept. 6.]
