Habitat: Common on South side of pass only on open avalanche slopes
Description: specimens show winter bud stage, plant in bud and in full flower. Winter buds are dark crimson, velvety, tinged yellow. Many fully opened flowers have a crimson tinge. 1-or 2-flowered, corolla primrose yellow with very distinct farinaceous eye. Very fragrant. Tube yellow, usually crimson tinged at base. Calyx dark crimson, velvety. Pedicels same, bracts more crimson. Scape green with tinge of red. Leaves soft matt green above. very pale, green, flushed crimson below. Petioles green, roots white. The bigger the leaves the less crimson below.
