Habitat: Growing on outcrops of rock and on steep humus clad slopes on either side of the ridge, under bamboos.
Description: A yellow flowered species. Allied to P. agleniana but the individual flowers are smaller and the heads have rather fewer flowers; the leaves are different also. The flowers are a good buff yellow, with a white mealy crater and no scent; the plant has a faintly unpleasant smell, characteristic of its kind. Leaves covered beneath with whitish meal, thickly laid on. Capsule small, globular.
