Habitat: Rocks and trees in rainforest
Description: Small epiphytic bush or shrub, now in full bloom, or passing over. Flowers white witha pink flush, due to the outer ribs of the corolla being marked with broad purplish pink bands; a yellow mark at the base of the upper petals. Scent not very pronounced. Upper leaf surface, at least when young, with bristles, scales of the lower leaf surface surface rather widely seperated by the diameter of 2 to 3 scales. The corolla is lepidote on the reverse, but not thickly, except at the extreme base; the upper leaf surface is also often lepidote. Truss 2-3 flowered. 20/5/06: Abundant on rocks and trees in Rhododendron thickets and rain forest at 6000ft and over, still in fine bloom. (Notes. In foliage this species does not agree with a description of Rh. dendricola.) 15/5/26
