River 10 m wide, fast-flowing at the time. Herbacious climber, on Melastomataceae tree up to 10 m high. Stem 0.4 cm across, dark purplish brown. Petiole 8 x 0.3 cm, green. ; Lamina 17 x 15 cm, cordate and widely ovate, dull darkish green \ above with leathery feel, dull light green and rough beneath. Petals ‘ orange-yellow. Fruit two-tone, dark purplish red and pale green.
