HERB. HORT. EDINB. FLORA OF BRAZIL State of Rondénia No. R8226V Skm from Pimenta Bueno on the highway to Vilhena (BR 364), 11°43’S 61°09’ W. In much burned thicket cerradao on ‘terra chocolate’ (a hard clay pan impeding drainage and making the soil very wet during the rainy season). Multitrunked tree, 3.5m tall, with thickest trunk i 8cm dbh. Bark thick, corky, light fawn in colour |= and deeply fissured in a vertically elongate network.
