Plant found along a small path along the river. 5°55'41" S, 78°39'60" W alt. 450m Gallery forest along a river, with Vallesia, Annona, Tamarindus; surrounded by dry forest vegetation. Slender tree 4m tall. Bark thin, smooth, light brown. Long spines at leaf axis. Branches hanging down with axillary inflorescences, Flowers curved upwards in the inflorescences. Flowers lilac.
