ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN TV E0098237 Ex Herbario Musei Britannici Heliconia collinsiana Griggs Belize: Toledo District. Lowland broadleaved forest. BFREE Reserve, Bunkhouse clearing 45 - 75 m alt. Large herb, at least 2 m tall. Leaves dull above, white beneath, average blade about 1.22 m. long. Petiole and midrib often red at base of blade. Inflorescence spiral, pendent, floral bracts scarlet with white bloom on the tips and on the rhachis.Flowers and young fruit yolk yellow. Ripe fruits purple.
