In a temporarily flooded palm-dominated forest.
Small shrub or treelet to 2 m, woody stems green. Erect, solitary
stem when young, later (1 year?) branching. Calyx orange-
brown, turning red-orange at maturity. Hairs on calyx green.
Flowers bright orange. Stamens orange, anthers yellow-white.
Hairs on calyx turning from green to lighter yellowish-green in
fruit. Fruits orange.
