Subalpine tussock grassland and improved pasture. 1400 m. A4°52"44"S; 168°S7' 36" Male perennial rosette herb forming clump to 1.2m wide, in groups of up to 7; flowering stem to lm, yellow brown with req tinges, .~stalk to 5cm diameter at base, inflorescences broad - narrowly conical. Populations showing large range of variations :- leaves with stipules up to 15cm but everything from almost absent to 15cm on the same plant.
